The most important thing in your life…
is knowing what will happen to you when it’s over. When your time here on earth is finished, will you go to Heaven? You can know for sure! God tells us about it clearly in His Word, the Bible.
As Creator and Sovereign Ruler of the whole universe, God deserves all of our love and obedience. “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11
But instead of loving and obeying God, we have all chosen to rebel against His authority and disobey Him. “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way.” Isaiah 53:6
The Bible calls this rebellion sin. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
God is holy and cannot tolerate sin. He is “of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong.” Habbakuk 1:13
So our sinful choices have earned us God’s judgment – ultimately, physical death and spiritual death, which is a permanent separation from God. “For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23
But God is also love, and in His mercy, He offers us hope! He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross to pay the penalty of our sin for us. “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
Jesus Christ rose from the dead after three days: He conquered sin and death! Now God “commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.” Acts 17:30,31
None of the good works we do are sufficient to earn us salvation. “All our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.” Isaiah 64:6 God’s salvation is a gift: it cannot be earned. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9
Thanks to God’s mercy and kindness to us, all people have another choice now. Those who choose to reject Christ’s sacrifice for their sins remain condemned: “…whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” John 3:36b But “whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.” John 3:36a
Won’t you choose life – eternal life – through Jesus Christ today?
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
